  • Garlic 

Garlic is one of the best natural treatments for pneumonia. It contains a compound called allicin that exhibits antibacterial and antifungal properties that help fight the infection. It also acts as an expectorant and clears the phlegm from your lungs and throat. Mix one cup of milk in four cups of water and add one-half teaspoon of crushed garlic to it. Boil the solution until it reduces to one-fourth of the original amount. Drink it three times a day.

  • Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper has high capsaicin content that stimulates the release of mucus from the respiratory passages. Thus, it helps clear the mucus from the respiratory system. Mix some lemon juice and a dash of cayenne pepper in an eight-ounce glass of water. Drink it a few times a day.

  • Turmeric 

Turmeric contains curcumin, a compound that exhibits anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which can be effective against the bacteria causing pneumonia. Drink a glass of warm milk mixed with one teaspoon of turmeric powder, two or three times a day.

  • Holy Basil and Black Pepper

Holy basil and black pepper exhibit anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that can help your body fight pneumonia. Extract the juice from five basil leaves. Mix in a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Consume it every six hours.

  • Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds exhibit some powerful anti-inflammatory properties, which can help relieve inflammation and other symptoms of pneumonia. Make fenugreek tea by boiling one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in 500 ml or about two cups of water. Strain and drink four cups of fenugreek tea a day. To improve its taste, you can add a little lemon juice. Reduce the amount you drink as you feel better.
