Home remedies for fibroids

Uterine fibroids, also known as uterine leiomyomas or fibroids, are  smooth muscle tumors of the uterus. Fibroids are abnormal growths that develop in or on a woman’s uterus. About 70 to 80 percent of women experience fibroids by the age of 50.

Based on growth and location of fibroids which leads to symptoms and problems. Different fibroids develop in different locations in and on the uterus.

  • Intramural Fibroids : Intramural fibroids are the most common type of fibroid. These types appear within the muscular wall of the uterus. Intramural fibroids may grow larger and can stretch your womb.
  • Subserosal Fibroids : Subserosal fibroids form on the outside of your uterus, which is called the serosa. They may grow large enough to make your womb appear bigger on one side. They can also grow outward from the surface and remain attached by a small piece of tissue and then are called pedunculated fibroids. These pedunculated growths can actually detach from the uterus to become a parasitic leiomyoma
  • Pedunculated Fibroids : Subserosal tumors develop a tumor stem they become pedunculated fibroids.
  • Submucosal Fibroids : They are located in the muscle beneath the endometrium of the uterus and distort the uterine cavity; even small lesions in this location may lead to bleeding and infertility.
  • Cervical fibroids : They are located in the wall of the cervix


Estrogen and progesterone produced by the ovaries. They cause the uterine lining to regenerate during each menstrual cycle and may stimulate the growth of fibroids.

Risk factors

  • a family history of fibroids
  • Obesity
  • Eating red meat

Signs and symptoms

  • paining and heavy bleeding.
  • pain in the pelvis and/or lower back
  • increased menstrual cramping and long menstruation period
  • increased urination
  • pain during intercourse
  • pressure or fullness and swelling or enlargement in your lower abdomen


Diagnosis can be performed by pelvic examination or medical imaging.

Remedy 1


  • Milk
  •  blackstrap molasses

How to prepare and use

Add blackstrap molasses to a glass of warm milk and drink it. It gives relief from fibroids pains and discomfort.


  • Drink this milk mixture twice a day

  • Chasteberry

How to prepare and use

  • Chasteberry is one of the most effective remedies for fibroids. Just take chaste berry drops twice or thrice a day.

  • Green tea : It gives relief from the pain of fibroids.

Place the filled tea strainer or sieve into an empty mug or cup. Pour the heated water into the mug, over thetea leaves. Steep the tea leaves for 2 – 3 minutes but not any longer, or else your tea will become slightly bitter. Let your tea cool down for a few moments and enjoy your perfect cup of green tea.


  • Drink 2 to 3 cups of green tea in the day
