Ever had a skin rash, itching, redness or swelling after touching or eating something? Chances are, you had a skin allergic reaction. There are different types of skin allergies. These could be eczema or atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, hives or urticaria and swelling or angioedema.

Home Remedies For Skin Allergies 

The home remedies for skin allergies are 

  • Baking Soda: 

Baking soda is a great home remedy for itchy skin rashes. Use a cup of baking soda in a cool bath and soak for about half an hour for maximum relief.

Add 1 cup of baking soda to a bucket of warm water and soak the affected part into it for about 30 to 60 minutes and then let it air dry. 

  • Olive Oil:

Extra-virgin olive oil works as a great skin moisturizer facilitate healing and promote skin renewal as it is rich in vitamin E and antioxidants. It will also soothe your skin and reduce itching.

Simply rub extra-virgin olive oil or a combination of equal parts of olive oil and honey on your rash a few times daily until it heals completely.

  • Lemon:

Lemon contains anaesthetic and anti-inflammatory properties that help to reduce itching. Squeeze unadulterated lemon juice on itchy skin and allow it to dry. You’ll be surprised by how fast you get relief with this easy skin allergy remedies.

  • Aloe Vera:

Due to its anti-inflammatory, emollient, antibacterial and antifungal properties, aloe vera is excellent for treating a number of skin ailments including rashes. Apart from healing, it also soothes the skin, relieves itching and reduces redness.

Apply aloe vera gel on the affected area. Leave it on for at least 20 minutes, and then rinse it off.Do this at least three times a day until the rash clears.

  • Basil Leaves:

Basil leaves contain anti-itch compounds called camphor and thymol. This is my personal go-to trick for bug bites, as it’s so quick and easy. Plus, rubbing the leaf onto the skin satisfies the compulsive urge to scratch.

Crush up the leaves and rub directly onto the skin.

  • Oatmeal:

Oatmeal is great for alleviating skin irritation and inflammation due to its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. It is excellent for rashes caused by poison ivy, eczema, sunburn, chicken pox and allergies.

Add 1– 2 cups finely ground oatmeal to warm water. Apply this mixture to your skin to get rid of allergy symptoms.
