Making of sorrel tea:

Ingredients
  1. 2 ounces (about 1 1/2 cups) dried sorrel calyxes (also called jamaica or hibiscus)
  2. Two 1-inch cubes of peeled fresh ginger chopped fine.
  3. 3 whole cloves.
  4. 5 3/4 cups water.
  5. 3/4 cup sugar.
  6. 1 1/2 cups amber rum.
  7. 2 cups ice cubes, or to taste.
  8. Lime and orange slices for garnish.

Combine sorrel, ginger, dried orange slice, and clove in a bowl. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan or kettle; pour over sorrel mixture. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Let mixture steep at room temperature, 8 hours to overnight.

Prevent cancer:  The oxalic acid present in the fresh sorrel leaves acts as a preventive measure for cancers and tumors. Sorrel leaves contain chlorophyll and carotenoids along with many vitamins and minerals that help in fighting, preventing, and treating breast cancer.

Kidney Health: Sorrel shows diuretic effect, sorrel stimulates urination, which cleans out the kidneys, taking with it any extra toxins, salts, water, and even a small percentage of fat.
