Warts a skin growth virus

Warts are benign skin growths caused by viruses. Warts are typically small, rough, and hard growths that are similar in color to the rest of the skin. Most come from the human papillomavirus (HPV), which infects the top layer of skin and causes it to grow rapidly, creating a wart. They usually occur on the hands and feet they can also affect other locations.  The virus is believed to enter the body through skin that has been damaged slightly.

Risk factors included with warts are

  • public showers,
  • working with meat,
  • eczema, and
  • a low immune system

There are several different kinds of warts based on place and look of the warts

  2. Plantar warts: These grow on the soles of the feet and are hard and thick with dark specks. They can be painful when you walk.
  3. Flat warts: These can grow on the face, arms, and legs. They’re small, have flat tops, and may be light yellow, brown, or pink.
  4. Filiform warts: These can grow on the face, usually around the mouth, nose, or chin. They are the same color as the skin, but they have thread-like growths sticking out of them.
  5. Periungual warts: These occur under and around the fingernails and toenails.
